Why Give?

The Arizona Arthritis Center is a nationally recognized not-for-profit Center of Excellence at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Since the 1970’s, the Center has played a key role in finding effective advances in the treatment of arthritis.

Arthritis is a critical factor in our happiness as we age. Although arthritis does not directly kill, the disease is the cause of health problems that do kill, such as heart disease and diabetes. Additionally, arthritis impacts thousands of children in the U.S. In Arizona alone, it is estimated that more than 4,000 children have arthritis.

How You Can Help
The continued success of the Center relies on charitable support. In recent years, government grants and dollars have been cut significantly and philanthropic support is key to our continued progress. Only 30 percent of our research dollars come from federal and state funding. The rest must come from the private sector - charitable people like you - if we are to discover new ways to more effectively treat and ultimately find a cure for the disease.

Thanks to donations, the Center has benefited millions of people. Contributions have helped us to continue our mission to improve the health and well being of so many people through patient care, teaching and research.
