TOPIC: "Mexican-American Caregiving Families' Under-Use of Long Term Support Services"
SPEAKER: Janice Crist, PhD, RN, FNGNA, FAAN, a UA Associate Professor of Nursing, UA College of Nursing, and member, UA Sarver Heart Center, her clinical expertise focuses on: a) Community health, public health, and gerontology; b) State-level public health nursing consultation: nursing homes and minority healthcare disparities; c) Case management for home care/hospices in Texas and the State of Washington; and d) Transcultural nursing; qualitative and gerontological research methods. Her research involves community-based participatory research (CBPR) interventions to eliminate disparities; e.g.: under-use of home health care services by Mexican American elders and their family caregivers.
